Yesenia Bernal
Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee
Hi, I am Yesenia Bernal Lareos, a Marriage and Family Therapist trainee at Mending Feelings and a graduate student at National University.
Working in a Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program showed me just how important it is to meet youth and families where they are with compassion, flexibility, and cultural understanding.
I have developed a strong interest in solution focused and narrative therapy, which help clients tap into their strengths and reframe the stories that shape their lives. I am especially drawn to systemic and relational approaches where I can support clients by understanding them within the context of their relationships and environments.
I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non judgmental space where people feel empowered to explore, reflect, and grow.
As a first generation Latina from an immigrant family, I carry with me a deep appreciation for hard work, resilience, and compassion for those navigating systemic challenges. I believe everyone deserves a space to be seen and supported. Healing often begins when we feel safe enough to show up as we are, and I hope to be part of creating that space.
Outside of work, I enjoy working on my cars, spending time outdoors, and being with my family.
