Abi Ramsay

Counseling Trainee

Hello! I am a counseling trainee currently completing my practicum as part of my Master’s in Counseling Psychology at National University, pursuing licensure as both an LMFT and LPCC.

As a first generation Filipino American woman, I understand how culture, family expectations, and generational experiences shape identity and emotional well being. This perspective, along with over a decade of work with families across a variety of ages and stages and a background in community engagement, has deeply informed the way I show up as a therapist today.

I am passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, generational trauma, and the barriers often faced by neurodivergent individuals and people with disabilities. I strive to create a space where people of all genders and backgrounds feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood.

My clinical training builds on this foundation through a trauma informed and culturally affirming approach grounded in systems thinking and narrative therapy. I also integrate holistic and somatic practices to support mind body awareness and emotional regulation.

Together, we explore your story with compassion, build practical coping tools, and reconnect with your resilience. I aim to create a warm, grounded, and restorative space where you can rest, reflect, and grow.
